Hamilton Theatre Arts is delighted to welcome Kirsty to the teaching faculty.

Kirsty will join the Ballet faculty working with the students on our 3 Year Diploma in Professional Dance.

Originally from Devon, Kirsty started dancing at the age of 5 and received her early training from The Linda Mortimore School of Dance. She developed a real passion for ballet and dance and decided to pursue performing arts as a career. In 2006, Kirsty gained a full scholarship to attend Northern Ballet School and performed in many full-length classical ballets such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and Coppélia with Manchester City Ballet, choreographed and produced by David Needham.

After graduation, she embarked on a career travelling around the world performing in many genres of dance including Classical Ballet, Musical Theatre, Tap, Ballroom, Latin American and Jazz, working with companies such as Jean Ann Ryan Productions, Belinda King Creative Productions, Qdos Entertainment and Gravity Live.

In 2016, Kirsty gained a place on the prestigious Professional Dancers Teaching Diploma course at the Royal Academy of Dance where she graduated with Registered Teachers Status (RTS). Before moving to her current location in Glasgow, Kirsty taught at many schools around South West and South East London. Her current and past teaching credits include The MGA Academy of Performing Arts (Ballet Tutor – Undergraduate courses), Stellar Performing Arts (Ballet teacher & Choreographer), Alba Ballet (Choreographer), The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (Lecturer in Modern Ballet – Junior Conservatoire) and Scottish Ballet Junior Associates. Kirsty founded her school Allégro Dance Academy in 2018 training over 80 students every week in the art of classical ballet, focusing on the RAD syllabus as well as Non-syllabus Ballet Technique, PBT, Pointe Work, Flexibility and Strengthening.

Many of her students have taken RAD ballet exams at both graded and vocational levels, all receiving excellent results and Kirsty prides herself and her school on a 100% pass rate in all exams. She is also a certified teacher in both DDMIX (a dance fitness program developed by Darcey Bussell) and Progressing Ballet Technique. Kirsty was delighted and honoured to have been a finalist for two teaching awards - 'The Royal Academy of Dance Centenary Early Teaching Career Award' (2020) and the 'One Dance UK Rising Star Award' (2019).

Hamilton Theatre Arts is delighted to welcome Kirsty to the team!
